Project Description
Tom, also known as The Chubby Northerner, is an award-winning performance poet, author, playwright and community artist from Greater Manchester. A passionate believer that poetry belongs to everyone, he is the creator of viral poetry projects Pavement Poetry & PO-E-TEA.
Tom is the Say Owt Slam Champion 2025 (York) and was runner-up at a slam in Liverpool in 2024. His poetry has travelled from grassroots open mics to opening the UEFA Champions League Final on BT Sport. His spoken-word theatre show Condoms & Cucumbers won Best Spoken Word Show at Manchester Fringe 2026. He also has 2 books out in “Lovely Chubbly” & “Chub Actually”
