John Stephenson began his military career due to the careers office on the street, and a one-off conversation with what seemed like the biggest and most inspirational infantry soldier he had ever seen. With little to no prospects in the Northeast, he quickly left home, travelled to Bassingbourn, and began his career reaching the dizzy heights of Regimental Sergeant Major, the number one soldier.
After 22 years of service and the most wonderful experiences all across the globe in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo and South Africa he decided to hang up his polished boots and leave the Armed Forces. In this book he looks at how life begun, life in the military and ultimately how he struggled to achieve the transition out of the military and how by using his experience he can guide others down clearer and more fruitful paths.
John opens the door to becoming The Hunter and removes The Sleepwalker, allowing anyone in transition to build a mindset that is owned by only one person, themselves.
John now lives in York with his wife, Mandy, and their dogs. His debut book The Making of a Hunter is due for release on 28th June 2025 and is available to pre-order from April 1st.
